Damian Gerke
Damian Gerke is on the leadership team of 1Body Church, a network of simple home churches in Tampa, Florida. Damian’s upcoming book is Are You Who You Want to Be: How Knowing Your Identity Lets You Live Your True Purpose. It answers mankind’s most compelling question— “Who am I?”—exposing the longing that all humans have to find the identity they know exists but have never seen. It reveals the simple but profound discoveries that come through being a disciple and helping others to be his disciple.
Damian is also the author of In the Way: Church As We Know It Can Be a Discipleship Movement (Again). It is written for pastors and church leaders to explain a disciple-making movement (DMM) ministry strategy. It powerfully demonstrates that the very thing we hope to accomplish—to make more disciples—is being unintentionally blocked by how we typically practice our faith, despite the best of intentions.
Damian currently partners with EntreResults, a Houston-based coaching firm that helps businesses in the areas of strategic planning and leadership development. Damian has a diverse background, including aerospace design engineering, vocational pastor and a learning and development leader in a corporate HR role. He created the leadership development strategies for a company that twice made Inc. Magazine’s Fastest 5000 list as one of the 5,000 fastest-growing companies in the U.S.
He is a Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) through the Association for Talent Development, as well as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coaching Federation. Damian is an avid cyclist, a pastime he enjoys with his wife, Cheryl. His penchant for cycling was the inspiration for his book Taking the Lead: What Riding a Bike Can Teach You About Leadership.
